The 1982 Honda Civic belongs to the second generation vehicles. The second generation Honda Civic comes equipped with two different types of engines. All the engines used in the Honda Civic were designed on the basis of Honda’s unique CVCC technology, used to reduce automotive emissions. While the Honda Civic 1300 carried a 1.3L, 55hp, 1335cc engine, Honda Civic 1500 was fitted with a 1.5L, 67hp, 1488 cc engine that generated more power. There were four different styles of transmission offered with these vehicles, which include 4-speed manual transmission, 5-speed manual transmission, 2-speed automatic Hondamatic transmission and 3-speed automatic Hondamatic transmission. These vehicles featured overhead drive, front-wheel drive and notchback styling. Other features included partial cloth seats, carpets, rear widow wipers, radial tires, cigar lighter, tachometer, clock, a basic AM/FM radio and a rear window defroster.

The 1982 Honda Civic is available in four different body styles, including a 3-door hatchback, 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback and a 5-door station wagon. The 1982 Honda Civic is designed with superior aerodynamics, more integrated styling and more versatility. This model came in as four door sedan and hatchback models and comprised of rectangular headlamps and black bumpers. The most unique feature of a Honda Civic was that it was equipped for the first time with a new gas-shipping model. This model was called the five-speed FE or ‘fuel economy’ model. As a result of this, the 1982 Honda Civic achieved better fuel efficiency and was rated at 41mpg in the city and 55 mpg on the highway.
